“ I was trying to switch from Champion to Constellation. My credit score is in the 700s and when I tried to sign up, was told had to pay 350 dollar deposit. I have had electric service in Texas for over 38yrs and never paid a deposit. Guess Constellation doesn't want new customers. ”
“ last month i signed for 3 months plan thru powertochoose website. they sent me confirmation email. i couldn't download pdf documents. now i see without my permission they changed my plan to 12 months plan. when i called them back regarding this matter first thing they put me on hold for long time second they their computers are on maintenance third they will call back after 4 days ”
“ Was given a rate by Choose Texas Power, but when I get written confirmation an hour later was completely different. Called Constellation immediately to cancel my application. 2 days later received an email from Constellation confirming cancellation. Two weeks latter I received notice I was going to be switched. Immediately called Constellation who said a different department sent the notice, but I should disregard as my application was cancelled and I would not be switched from my existing company. A few days before the date of the switch my existing electric provider said I was scheduled to be switched to Constellation and Center Point confirmed this. So for all Constellations assurances I had to do a lot of scrambling to stop a switch that should never have taken place. Two concluding issues; 1. don't trust the rates you get from Choose Texas Power, 2. Don't trust any telephone conversations with Consellation. ”
“ I attempted to shop competitively for gas prices and attempted to switch to Constellation, who I've used in the past. However, they don't partner with People's Gas anymore and so the switch never took place. ”

“ I was a Georgia Natural Gas ® Customer for over 35+ years. Because I am a senior citizen, and live on a fixed income, I had to shop around for a marketer with reasonable price per therms to help me to control my monthly budget. Getting Constellation may be a big mistake for me as a Senior Citizen. I have tried to communicate with Constellation about this matter, but to no avail. Constellation referred me to AGLC so that they can explain I was still qualified to receive my low income senior discount with Constellation. Unfortunately, no one at Constellation was able to tell me why my AGLC charges on their bill is higher than this same charge on my GA Natural Gas bill. Also, why is Constellation using a different calculation for the price per therm, than was originally advertised to me. I would like for someone at Constellation to address these issues that I am having as a brand new customer. ”

Just within the past hour, I had a young man, literally beating on my door. Upon answering, he introduced himself. I immediately told him that I was not interested. (my time is precious, as I am sure his is too) He proceed to explain that he was not selling anything. Again, I told him and very politely that I was not interested, at all. He then insisted on arguing with me, why I should listen. NOW, my patience is growing thin. I asked him to leave. He stated that I was rude.
NOW, He's a stranger that showed up on my doorstep. I did NOT call and ask him to come to my house. I did not ask him to BEAT upon my front door. Short, He was not WELCOME. I had asked him to leave several times which he refused to do. All he wantred to do was argue.
I suggest that YOU Better, Train and educate your employees. They're behaviour is a direct reflection of CONSTELLATION ENERGY. He didn't leave until I closed the door. ”
“ Didnt end up using their service because they never answered the phone. If customer service is that hard to reach when Im trying to establish service I cant imagine if I actually needed them for something. ”
“ My bill has went from approx. $189 a month, to $250 a month to this month of $424 Of course once they have angered you , then they want to offer better rates, and discounts. By this time the you are fed up... Call Texas Energy Choice, I phone call, and they find you the best rates, no $ out of pocket and they take care of everything Sorry Constellation You loose ”
“ This company can't seem to get it together. I had 3 accounts with multiple meters, this took them months to try and figure out why not all 4 meters were billed at the contracted rate. They blamed it on the meter reading date, then tried saying it was because I have a commercial account (not true). There were supervisors who did not bother to return my MULTIPLE phone calls. I suggest you stay away from this company. Many service persons barely speak English making this whole saga even worse. Worst part is, their error has cost me thousands because of a higher rate from my former company. ”

“ On May 3 I went online and changed energy providers through illinois energy ratings.com. I received a confirmation e-mail and then, I have heard nothing. As a matter of fact, I received an e-mail on July 3 from Champion Energy, who had been my provider for the past few years, thanking me for renewing my contract with them. Someone dropped the ball and I don't know who, but it would appear my request for a new provider did not actually go through. ”

“ I've used multiple provider for power in Texas over the last 5 years since deregulation kicked in. I've always gone to powertochoose to get the best deal when my previous contract expires. I did this recently and have learned that StarTex is now considering anyone who has used their service within the last 36 months to not be eligible for their best NEW CUSTOMER plans. In the past, the process was that if u were not an existing customer you were considered a NEW CUSTOMER. Now StarTex has changed the rules to scam us. StarTex will publish a loss leader on powertochoose, but say you are not allowed to have that. They'll gladly sell you a plan that is more expensive so it's not that they think you are a risk. They just want to bait and switch users.I've contacted my local congressman and he has had the PUC file a complaint about this bait and switch practice. Hopefully, this will be resolved to help the little guy. ”
“ Purchase from Startex ever again? _ _ _ _ No. I ordered a variable rate plan that started at a wonderful rate- about $0.072 per kw. They do mention that they can raise the price at their own discretion at any time. What they never mention in the terms is that yes, they are about to raise your rate after only one month of the promotional rate and yes, you will be shocked at how cavalier they are about dinging you once you have been roped in.The idea that anyone would agree to have their rates raised by 64% after only one month (from 7.2 cents to 11.8) is so ludicrous that it won't enter into your thinking as a reasonable prospect, unless someone tells you in plain language that it will happen and that this is apparently routine business to Startex- hence my review here. Don't take a promotional rate unless you have done an exhaustive study of how your account will be handled after the first short period of service. They leave all mention of that out except by inference in "legalese". ”
“ I was on a rate plan until this July and was very happy. I did not enter another because I knew I would be buying a home and was worried about breaking a contract. Even though I have been going month to month my bill has been good. Unfortunately I am forced to shop for another company because the new rate plans are very high. I have not had any issues, I love that I can go online and pay, and my bills were decent. They no longer offer any rate plans that are priced decent. I did try to call customer service to see if I could get a lower rate as a loyal customer but no luck.....so I will shop and read reviews until I find another company ”
