We just moved to a new house this past April and Eversource has been there with us every step. The one time we did lose power they were able to quickly restore us. I love that you can pay online. Moving across state lines was difficult but our utility service change was easy and one of the things we needed taken care of the most. We didn't have to wait for a representative to come to the house, it was all done via telephone, giving us more time to take care of our move. We were able to stop service and start service without any problem at all.

The customer service rep helping me set up my service, and any calls thereafter were handled perfectly. It would be more helpful if their bill was easier to navigate. It's not very clear on how many KWh I used per month.
Price is competitive, and not as fluctuating like a third party supplier.

We lived in Ellington CT and Eversource was our supplier of both electicity and gas. We have since moved, however during our two years with Eversource, we never had any problems, we had our service connected and disconnected in a timely fashion, customer service was helpful and responsive, and billing and payment was easy online. Customer Service During Covid 19 Pandemic
On Friday afternoon 4/3 we heard a loud noise and our power went out. I called Eversource and spoke with a helpful customer service rep who was calm and reassuring. I was then contacted by text and phone with status updates. The power was restored before the estimated time. During this very difficult time I want to say how much this was appreciated not only by me but by the other 92 people who were affected. Please thank the crew who gave up their evening and worked to restore power quickly, especially since we all need to stay at home. There are many things I don't think I'll ever take for granted again, and electricity is definitely one of them. Thank you!

I was unable to log in to my account at a very inopportune time because I couldn't get the correct account number and had forgotten my username/pw. In a moment of frustration, I messaged two members of their exec team responsible for customer service to lament my experience and ask them to do better (for context, I work in the digital experience industry so probably have a higher-than-most expectation for these things). Both of them replied promptly offering to resolve my issue and apologizing for the inconvenience. It was a tremendous example of how good, human-centric customer service can flip a negative to a positive.

Customer service is poor. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, I was moved to the wrong department. I was disconnected while on hold for the "right" department. I had to call several times because the system requires you to specify the reason when I did, it didn't comprehend and assumed there was a power outage. As a result, I had to make several calls.

Living without electricity for days
Wish I could give them 0 stars. I paid my electric bill and they came the next day and shut my electricity off anyway without notice. When I got home from work it had obviously been several hours since they entered my apartment because my fridge was no longer cold. I called about this and all they said was "oh that's odd you paid and they still shut your electricity off" and that they'd send someone within 24 hours and they only work until 5:30pm.
Eversource should have sent someone right away seeing as though THEY were in the wrong shutting my electricity off when my bill was paid. Because of them I've been living in darkness for two days and my food is spoiled. This company is awful, unreliable, and conducts business illegally. They should be shut down for malpractice.
Update: It's been over 24 hours and they have NOT come to turn my electricity on. Because it's a Saturday, nobody is even in the office and when I try to call them I just receive an answering machine asking me to leave a message. DO NOT use this electricity "company", they are obviously extremely unorganized since they shut my electricity off when my bill was paid, and they are liars since they "guaranteed" they'd come to turn my electricity off within 24 hours and they never showed up.

I paid my bill using their Speedpay system a say before it was scheduled for shut-off. I came home from work the next day to find that my electricity had been shut off. Customer service closes at 6:00 pm, and there's nothing you can do until the next morning, meaning everything in your fridge is ruined.
I went online again, and saw a message that they are having trouble with the Speedpay system. They made no effort to contact me about this before shutting off my power. Eversource is awful!!!

I live in Massachusetts. My latest gas bill was broken down into a $14.00 usage charge, plus $66.00 for delivery. How does it cost $66.00 to deliver $14.00 worth of gas? Thats like buying a $10.00 item on EBay and pay paying $47.14 for shipping. Who else but a state-sanctioned scam could get away with this kind of usury? Politicians need to address these crooks ASAP. Im calling my state representative in the morning. Enough is enough.

I live on Run Hill Road in Brewster, MA. My Eversource electricity is provided by an underground main line that is over 30 years old and services 9 houses. This line has failed 5 times in the last 12 weeks (6/4/22, 6/6/22, 7/4/22, 8/20/22, 8/25/22) in addition to failures last year. Each failure resulted in 4 to 5 hour power outages. Each failure was repaired by patching the main line. The main line is rotten and will continue to fail. Eversource continues to provide unreliable electrical service and patch the rotten line rather than replace the line. How many times does the line have to fail before it is replaced? This service is unsatisfactory.

Received Disconnect Notice after less than 2 weeks past the bill due date
I was shocked to receive a Disconnect Notice after just two weeks of the bill due date. Their Autopay didn't work for the first month, even though I had set it up in their system. Did I mention their Supply charges are overpriced and it takes more than 2 months to switch to a 3rd party supplier for a new account while they gouge profits? "We have no electricians."
Since my electric bill has tripled in the past few months, I made the mistake of calling my provider Eversource to make a simple request... which was.,.... and hold on to your seats folks..... " Can someone please come and check my meter?" At which time I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, talked over, and told that Eversource has no electricians and no ability to perform this task. I, however, could do it myself by turning on and off the breakers or hire an electrician to come and do this for me. After arguing with 2 separate depts and providing my SS number, home phone, acct number, address, 4 times, I was re rerouted to another dept who invited me to drive to New Briton CT to watch them perform the test because they can't come to my house. Many Americans may be returning to candlelight if this continues! Good Luck Folks!

Terrible company to work with in most situations. Because of where I live I am forced to use them for service. Recently, I had a room mate run up my electric bill. I've been trying to pay it down since. Last month I received a shut off notice. I called to figure out an arrangement. I had $400 but they demanded 440 to set up anything. I didn't have the extra and they said there was nothing they could do that was less than the 440. I have given them $650 without contacting them in the last 30 days but they dropped off a shut off notice. When I called them, they still refuse to take less than 400 for a payment arrangement down payment and want 400 monthly on a $680 balance. Yes, it's behind and that's not good but $650 was over half the bill. To be as heartless as the representative was takes a real vile person.

Eversource upgraded my gas meter and following the "upgrade" my water heater doesn't work. The workers clearly had never worked on a tankless water heater before, didn't have anyone more experienced to advise them and had no idea how their property damage claims system would work. Additionally, they were rude/juvenile and were playing something like Red Rover with my trash bins before their work day had started. Yikes!

I tried to establish a natural gas account in Worcester, MA with eversource. The phone numbers lead to a virtual AI to direct your call. Seven people down the road, I am still told, " I am sorry I cannot help you with establishing your account, let me connect you with the correct person." Never made it to the correct person. I tried to set up an account, they gave me an account number. When I tried to make my payments, they said that the account number was invalid. I waited on the phone for hours, for multiple days. Not a single customer service person helped me, all of them redirected to another number which made me wait for an hour again. They have the worst customer service and operational procedure I have ever seen. Trying to pay my electricity bills should not be this hard. No one helped me and I still could not pay my bills nor open an account that is in service. They are threatening to cut my electricity off but also not helping in any way.

I was on the phone for way to long and the customer service agent was unable to explain an additional bill that was added to my account in a simple easy-to-follow way and kept changing what they were saying. Had to spend a week trying to activate electricity in my new apartment. They could not find the correct address I had to find out the last name of the last tenant yo be able to find the apart that sits in a major street. Unknown to me I had about 100 dollars owed to eversource, they sent it to a collection agency who emailed me. I paid the debt in full 2 weeks later I call up to ask about it, it still shows I owe the debt. Very RUDE women answering those calls, they don't listen and talk over you when you're trying to explain your situation, eversource is worst thab dealing with cable, they are expensive and their costumer service SUCKS

My service was disconnected this morning. I received disconnection notice after disconnected We had a death in the family in May. I missed my payment. I received the disconnect letter after service was shut off for $194.36.
I paid my entire bill. I was then told this will take 24 hours to be reconnected. Eversource has already taken money from my account. Still insisted this was policy!!! If you plan on continuing your outrageous service and delivery charges we certainly deserve human decency!

I made a payment to eversource that was accepted and confirmed but never actually went through. I wasnt notified about this otherwise I would have re-submitted it. So 7 days later my power was shut off. So I contacted them to get things cleared up and restore my power. Long story short even tho I paid the ridiculous amount of money ($310 security deposit) they wouldnt turn my power back on until the next day! This was the first time this has ever happened to me and They wouldnt work with me in any way possible. Very bad customer service, if I could I would change providers.

I have had so many problems with eversource. A few of these problems resulted with me losing my heat in the winter and losing electricity (AC) in the summer. I just moved into my apartment. Im currently 39 weeks pregnant and its winter. My service was disconnected without warning. No one called or emailed, they only claimed they sent a notice to my mailbox, which is impossible because its broken. Theres no emergency technicians to fix urgent situations after hours or on weekends. So rather than being empathetic, the call center is rude and tells a 39 week pregnant woman to go to a hotel or relatives house and try back on Monday. Ive never received a bill and was never notified that my service was conditional until they received a copy of my drivers license. So now Im without power in 20 degree weather at full-term pregnant and they dont care to rectify the situation quickly or make it a priority it even for Monday. Im just told to try back when they are open on Monday. Its completely irresponsible to not have protocol in place for urgent situations and the call center is completely incompetent but they are aware that this bull crap is completely legal, so they dont care. I cannot wait to talk to a manager on Monday to hear their excuse for the absence of actual customer service.

Eversource has monopoly on energy delivery in CT. Even if you pick a different supplier, you will pay at least double your cost per kilowatt for the privilege of delivery. Delivery works great unless there is a storm or other issue. Although the delivery charges are supposed to pay for maintenance etc of lines so that if there is an issue with a storm, Eversource is prepared. Please. Eversource is a for profit company and everyone who moves to CT is shocked at the price not only of supply but more, of their delivery charges. Here are some stats: Eversource profits Feb 2021: $1.2 billion. 2019 profits: $909.1 million. 2018: $26.3 million. You do the math. The worst monopolistic company in America. If we had a choice to switch to another provider we would do this. As a small business company with a small rental building, we are not happy with their services at all! We have to deal with this company that can't even train its employees properly. They never know who said what previously, they never can address any questions, they never can explain why they didn't send the bills for 6 months, and then suddenly we got one with total charges for 6 months. Ive been with eversource for over ten years and normally have no complaints. I hate that they are the only provider around because as of recently their prices are sky high!! I had a issue with my recent bill being double what I would normally pay and I was told nothing can be done and unfortunately I have to just deal with the high rates. After missing 1 month of payment a notice was sent out to cavern my services and a week later someone came and turned my power off even though my payment was pending. Then to have my services turned back on they charged me to pay my bill again because it wasnt processed on their end and also an additional $110 to get services turned back on same day. I have small kids so I cant wait till the next day which I was told that I would also be required to pay $50 to turn on next day. I would not recommend solely based on my experience today. In my 10 years Ive never missed a payment or had issues and the one time I missed a payment there was no compassion and I was forced to pay extra money on top of the increase of my services. If I had another option in provider I would leave in a heart beat. And because they know they are the only provider in the area they take advantage of their customers. Worst experience ever dealing with customer service representatives!! If you are able to look elsewhere for services I would advise you do so!!!

I had the bills autopaid by my bank. Big mistake. They took payment for a bill but the day before that they made out the next month's bill, so didn't have to take into account the 1st payment. So that second month they took payment for both which meant that I had paid the first month twice. Called to request a refund. Told I need to call back tomorrow to do a 3 way phone call with my bank so MY bank can tell them that the payments have cleared. It's on their system as posted but ... Then they apply for a check , wait 5 business days, then they have to product & send the check, approx 2 weeks. She said wire transfer then said she didn't say that (I wasn't the only person listening and said in a vaguely threatening way "this is a recorded line", I can only hope that recording is made available to me when I need it! If I receive it then it will be just in time for the next bill to be due. They are price gauging, overcharging and cheating by billing the next cycle before the first payment was due & taken from my bank account. This can't be legal. How bad does it have to get before we have a class action?

Eversource- one of your drivers was driving MANIACALLY on the Merritt Parkway and almost HIT my daughter and almost swerved into her. Then when she was so scared to the point where she had to get off at a random exit (exit 36, Old Stamford Rd in New Canaan) just so she could pull over and call me, the eversource car FOLLOWED her and the man driving proceeded to roll down his window and scream and yell and curse at her. Doesn't matter how little you use your electricity they will always make you pay a ridiculous amount. There are families with zero electricity because you keep rasing the rates. You'd rather rob people of their money vs actually doing something helpful. It's been 1k for 2 years we barely use anything!!! What's the point of paying this company when all they care about it scamming people and leaving people on the streets!!

I've lived in CT my whole life (52 yrs) I have never thought about moving out of CT. Since this Public Benefits scandal. I am actively researching the best state to move to that is not full of corruption, deceit and theft at it's highest level. I've raised my family here and I hold business licensing in CT, which I will have to test for and get re-licensed when I move out of state - not a small undertaking. Over the last year we had been paying approximately $40/month to Public Benefits. This fee was not outrageous (not loved) but was ok. Then our PB fee went up to $170 in July, then $248 in August. These fees are outrageous. Our CT government is full of corruption. I am working hard to move out of CT as soon as possible.
